The Forgotten Books of Eden, by Rutherford H. Platt, Jr., [1926]

Different levels of hell  and one of them might burst out on earth?

“XL:9 And I measured out the whole earth, its mountains, and all hills, fields, trees, stones, rivers, all existing things I wrote down, the height from earth to the seventh heaven, and downwards to the very lowest hell, ‘

and the judgement-place,

and the very great, open (on earth?) and weeping hell.”

(Enoch:) Here they showed Enoch the terrible place and various tortures.

AND those two men led me upon to the Northern side, and showed me there a very terrible place, and there were all manner of tortures in that place: cruel darkness and unillumined gloom, and there is no light there, but murky fire constantly flameth aloft, and there is a fiery river coming forth, and that whole place is everywhere fire, and everywhere there is frost and ice, thirst and shivering, while the bonds are very cruel, and the angels fearful and merciless, bearing angry weapons, merciless torture, and I said: 2 ‘Woe, woe, how very terrible is this place.’ 3 And those men said to me: This place, O Enoch, is prepared for those who dishonour God, who on earth practise sin against nature, which is child-corruption after the sodomitic fashion, magic-making, enchantments and devilish witchcrafts, and who boast of their wicked deeds, stealing, lies, calumnies, envy, rancour, fornication, murder, and who, accursed, steal the souls of men, who, seeing the poor take away their goods and themselves wax rich, injuring them for other men’s goods; who being able to satisfy the empty, made the hungering to die; being able to clothe, stripped the naked; and who knew not their creator, and bowed down to soulless (sc. lifeless) Gods, who cannot see nor hear, vain gods, who also built hewn images and bow down to unclean handiwork, for all these is prepared this place amongst these, for eternal inheritance.

2 Esdras 4:8 Esdra: “I haven’t descended into the abyss nor as yet into hell, nor have I ever ascended to heaven.”

Luke 8:30 Expanded  Jesus asked him, “What is your name?”He answered, “Legion,” because many demons ·were in [had entered] him [C a legion was about five thousand Roman soldiers; the sense here is “many”]. 31 The demons begged Jesus not to ·send them [command them to depart] into ·eternal darkness [the bottomless pit;the Abyss]. 32 A large herd of pigs [C considered ritually unclean by Jews] was feeding on a hill, and the demons begged Jesus to allow them to go into the pigs. So Jesus allowed them to do this. 33 When the demons came out of the man, they went into the pigs, and the herd ·ran [rushed] down the ·hill [steep bank; precipice] into the lake and was drowned.

Matthew 12:25  Knowing their thoughts, he said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself comes to ruin, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. 26  In the same way, if Satan expels Satan, he has become divided against himself; how, then, will his kingdom stand?

Wycliffe Bible (WYC)  Isaiah 14:12    A! Lucifer (false light star 2Cor11:14), that risedest early, how fellest thou down from heaven; thou that woundedest folks, felledest down (al)together into [the] earth. (O! Lucifer, who risedest up early, how thou hast fallen down from heaven; thou who hast wounded the nations, fell down to the ground.)

13 Which saidest in thine heart, I shall ascend into heaven, I shall enhance my seat above the stars of (the) heaven(s); I shall sit in the hill of (the) testament, in the sides of the north. (Who saidest in thy heart, I shall ascend into heaven, I shall exalt, or I shall set, my throne above the stars of the heavens; I shall sit on the mountain where the gods meet, on the sides of the north.)

14 I shall ascend on the highness of (the) clouds; I shall be like the Highest. 15 Nevertheless thou shalt be drawn down to hell, into the depth of the pit.

Isaiah 14:12-15 The Voice (VOICE)

12 My, how you’ve fallen from the heights of heaven!
O morning star, son of the dawn!
What a star you were, as you menaced and weakened the nations,
but now you’ve been cut down, fallen to earth.
13 Remember how you said to yourself,
“I will ascend to heaven—reach higher and with more power—
and set my throne high above God’s own stars?”
Remember how you thought you could be a god, saying:
“I will sit among them at the mount of assembly in the northern heights.
14 I will rise above the highest clouds and
make myself like the Most High”?
15 Hah! Instead, you have sunk like a stone to where the dead abide.
You’ve hit bottom of the bottommost pit.

My wondering: Isa 14:15 Except that the dead ones are not in Gehenna/LakeOfFire/Hell/Abyss, but in Hades/Sheol=Grave instead?

(If I choose for example the witnesses’ site, which I find however interesting and good, does not mean I agree on everything there, but there are many good explanations.)

Isaiah Chapter 14 seems to be about the wicked fallen angel satan/lucifer(hebr.: hēlẹl)/wicked star (who prefers to be called the bright star as COPYCAT as he is), but also about another leader/ some leaders in this world worshiping evil?

Matthew 12:43-45 Expanded Bible (EXB)
People Today Are Full of Evil

Is there a hell?

NOG Mark 9:48  In hell worms that eat the body never die, and the fire is never put out.

AMPC  Mark 9:48 Where (hell (Gehenna) their worm [which preys on the inhabitants and is a symbol of the wounds inflicted on the man himself by his sins] does not die, and the fire is not put out.
EXB In hell the worm does not die; the fire is never put out.
NLT where the maggots never die and the fire never goes out.’
Mark 9:47-49 Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition (DRA)

47 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not extinguished. 48 For every one shall be salted with fire: and every victim shall be salted with salt.

49 Salt is good. But if the salt became unsavoury; wherewith will you season it? Have salt in you, and have peace among you.

In general salt is good to some extent within the human body. Salt is a preservative also to food for example. Salt poured out on wounds might hurt, but can also function as bacteria-killer (bactericidal). So salt can be good and bad. Eating/Drinking too much salt can make one thirsty.

MSG Mark 9:49 “Everyone’s going through a refining fire sooner or later, but you’ll be well-preserved, protected from the eternal flames. Be preservatives yourselves. Preserve the peace.”

From what I undertand, so is Sheol and Hades something like the grave where the dead are buried. The dead are dead and can not communicate, not see, not hear, but the soul which probably leaves the body, is most likely able to do this. But in hell,  people with bodies and their souls inside can not possibly be dead?  People in hell or Gehenna are most likely alive and tormented.  A soul without a body can probably not stay there, because a soul/spirit can not be hurt in the same way as body can?

Maybe some souls have been chosen to dwell in paradise because they were obvious cases and some souls are trained for 1000 years to be the holy leaders (144000) for example Stephen in Acts 6:5, 6:15, John the baptizer and many genuine prophets of this earth  while other souls might be asleep waiting for judgement good/bad.

Acts 6:15 Expanded Bible (EXB) 15 All the people [who sat] in the ·meeting [L Sanhedrin; 4:15] ·were watching Stephen closely [or stared intently at Stephen] ·and [or because they] saw that his face looked like the face of an angel.

The Hinnom valley is something else, but could be similar to hell, but is not hell. It seems as there were made horrible sacrifices in the past, but maybe might be used again according to this verses:

Isaiah 66:24

EXB “They will go out and see the dead bodies of the people who ·sinned [rebelled] against Me. The worms that eat them will never die, and the fires that burn them will never ·stop [be quenched], and ·everyone will hate to see those bodies [they will be a horror/abhorrence to all flesh].”

MSG “And then they’ll go out and look at what happened to those who rebelled against Me. Corpses! Maggots endlessly eating away on them, an endless supply of fuel for fires. Everyone who sees what’s happened and smells the stench retches.”

KJ21 “And they shall go forth and look upon the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against Me; “for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.”

And they shall go forth, and look upon the pigrei ha’anashim that have rebelled against Me; for their tola’at (worm) shall not die, neither shall their eish be quenched; and they shall be dera’on (loathsome, an abomination) to kol basar [See also on Gehinnom Dan 12:2].

Daniel 12:2 Expanded Bible (EXB) Many people who ·have already died [are sleeping in the land of the dust] will ·live again [wake up]. Some will wake up to life forever, but some will wake up to ·shame [reproach] and ·disgrace [abhorrence] forever [Is. 26:19].

Isaiah 26:19 Expanded Bible (EXB) Your dead will live again; their bodies will rise from death. You who ·lie in the ground [dwell in the dust], wake up and ·be happy [shout joyfully]! ·The dew covering you [Your dew] is ·like the dew of a new day [a dew of lights]; the ·ground [earth] will give birth to the dead.

Luke 16:21-26The Message (MSG) The Rich Man and Lazarus

19-21 “There once was a rich man, expensively dressed in the latest fashions, wasting his days in conspicuous consumption. A poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, had been dumped on his doorstep. All he lived for was to get a meal from scraps off the rich man’s table. His best friends were the dogs who came and licked his sores.

22-24 “Then he died, this poor man, and was taken up by the angels to the lap of Abraham.

The rich man also died and was buried. In hell and in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham in the distance and Lazarus in his lap. He called out, ‘Father Abraham, mercy! Have mercy! Send Lazarus to dip his finger in water to cool my tongue. I’m in agony in this fire.’

25-26 “But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that in your lifetime you got the good things and Lazarus the bad things. It’s not like that here. Here he’s consoled and you’re tormented. Besides, in all these matters there is a huge chasm set between us so that no one can go from us to you even if he wanted to, nor can anyone cross over from you to us.’

Luke 16:22-24 GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)  “One day the beggar died, and the angels carried him to be with Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 He went to hell, where he was constantly tortured. As he looked up, in the distance he saw Abraham and Lazarus. 24 He yelled, ‘Father Abraham! Have mercy on me! Send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water to cool off my tongue. I am suffering in this fire.’

NLT Matthew 7:13 “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad (Greek The road that leads to destruction.), and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way.14 But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.

Living Bible (TLB) Matthew7:13 “Heaven can be entered only through the narrow gate! The highway to hell is broad (The highway to hell, literally, “The way that leads to destruction.”), and its gate is wide enough for all the multitudes who choose its easy way. 14 But the Gateway to Life is small, and the road is narrow, and only a few ever find it.
